The MKB Bank Melges 24 European Championship 2014 Is Open For Entries
The Notice of Race has been published and online entry system opened for the MKB Bank Melges 24 European Championship 2014 and Melges 24 sailors from across the globe are invited to make their entries for this prestigious event that takes place from 2nd to 9th May 2014 in Balatonfüred, Hungary.
The MKB Bank Melges 24 European Championship 2014 will be organised by the MKB Bank Sailing Club, in co-operation with Hungarian Melges 24 Class Association and the International Melges 24 Class Association. As always and especially after a very successful inaugural Melges 24 European Sailing Series regatta on the Lake Balaton this April the Hungarian Melges 24 Fleet looks forward to welcoming international visitors to the competition which will feature not only great racing but a fun informal social programme for the teams too.
"We expect more than 80 boats at MKB Bank Sailing Club and some exciting competition on the race courses," said Enikő Németh, Club Manager and Coordinator of the Melges 24 Europeans. "The marina, hotel and leisure complex of the MKB Bank Sailing Club provide an outstanding venue for the regatta and the facilities will be made available for the exclusive use of the Melges 24 Class for the duration of the event. With the stunning green/turquoise waters of Lake Balaton, 600 sq km of sailable area, perfect sailing winds, excellent shoreside facilities and a reputation for world class race management we have it all to deliver an event to remember."
"We are pleased to have the MKB Bank Sailing Club continue its great hosting of high style sailing events with the 2014 Melges 24 Europeans," said Riccardo Simoneschi, the Chairman of IMCA. "We have no doubt that the club will produce the same strong turnout and competitive racing we have had on the Lake Balaton in our inaugural Melges 24 European Sailing Series regatta in April 2013, and will support their every effort to produce the best quality racing experience for all participants."
